Will Your Backup Batteries Work When You Need Them?

The PowerAgent Remote Battery Monitoring System provides a cost-effective
way to monitor the status of your remote backup battery plants. The PowerAgent
monitors individual cell voltage, string voltage, and cell temperature for multiple
strings of batteries of different voltages. In addition, the PowerAgent can run
conductance tests, which is an effective measurement of battery health when
applied over time. All of this information, plus detailed string and battery
descriptions (great for inventory management, Smart Grid, and NERC) can be
delivered to your NMS over any TCP/IP connection via the SNMP manageable
controller, or you can have the controller email alarms directly to technicians.
Likewise, any technician can access the information on the PowerAgent via
a standard web browser.

•Sensor modules monitor individual batteries:
    o Voltage (+/- 2%)
    o Conductance (+/- 10%)
    o Temperature (+/- 3 degC @ 25deg)
    o Powered from monitored battery (~5ma idle current)
    o Sensors are polled / controlled by MasterAgent site controller
• Optical isolation between sensors and controller
• True “plug and play” functionality… sensors automatically
        learn their place in string via a patent-pending
        communication method. No configuration!
• Periodic automatic data polling & logging or On-demand data
        collection from sensor modules
• Alarm collection from sensor modules
• Master unit can accept special-purpose monitoring devices on
         unused string inputs: Facilities monitoring, contact closure,
         analog voltages, etc.
• Multi-color LED on sensor indicates mode/status. Can be
         toggled to flash when trying to identify a particular sensor on a
         large string of batteries.
